KEN ROESEL- Westcoast Swing and Country Western dance instruction/Coaching, Choreography, Competitor, Adjudicator & Music and Dance Entertainer/Coordinator.

Ken has been studying Country Western dance since 1981
Studied Westcoast Swing since 1984
He has over 3 years experience in American Ballroom Smooth & Latin Rhythm dance training + instruction.

As an instructor, Ken likes to focus on the technical concepts of dance: mastering energy flow, lead/follow technique and styling. Trained in several systems of dance, he also specializes in dance musicality.

Ken's students are known to accelerate in their development and become top dancers. His students receive a comprehensive and professional dance program based in a "real people" atmosphere of caring and fun.

As a local, regional, and national Country Western and Westcoast Swing dance champion, Ken's successful competitive career expands over a period of 18 years. He has numerous accomplishments in both partnership and team competition. Some of his awards include....

8 time Champions Pro/Invitational WCS J&J winner
US Open Swing Dance Championships finalist
VA State Classic Grand Champion
NASDE Classic Championships: Two 2nd places, four 3rd places, one 4th place and one 5th place.
NASDE Top 10 in 1999
Over 10 combined UCWDC 1st, 2nd & 3rd place National Overall Championships in Divisions' 1 & 2 Showcase
UCWDC World's Pro/Am Instructor's Award
U.S. Easterns Invitational Instructor's Award
8 Grand Team Championships as a front line dancer with Dance West
Two 1st place National titles with his own team, Swingin'West
Two 3rd place national titles with his co-directed Swing team, Strictly Rhythm

Needless to say, it is not surprising that Ken's Pro/Am students frequently place high in their competitions

**** As a man of music, Ken has been the musical director at such events as Swing Fling, Boston Tea Party, and D.C. Dance Challenge. Not to mention the several times he has been employed as a contest music coordinator at events such as Summer Hummer, N.A.D.C., New England Swing Dance Championships and Big Apple C/W Dance Festival.. Ken has often set the example in his music that others follow. His ability to read a crowd and create a musical program that stimulates the dancer in people is one of his great hallmarks as a event DJ.
